Ok so clearly it’s impossible for me to be a fan of something without making shitloads of in depth analysises that probably no one will read but here I go anyway lol. This is p much what I think about Ciel and Sebastian’s relationship and sebaciel and all that.
So for starters, I don’t think Ciel and Sebastian are in love. Like I can’t know for sure, but I’m pretty positive they are not in love (I have nothing against sebaciel tho dw). HOWEVER, I do think that their relationship goes beyond just master/servant or contracter/contract-ee. And I feel like there could be some romantic/maaayyybe sexual aspects to it as well but idk. also think the relationship is different on both ends.
On Sebastian’s end, I think that while he does plan on eating Ciel’s soul, he still sees him as more than a meal. He always seems surprised and impressed by him, which says a lot to me considering he’s been alive for thousands of years and seen pretty much everything. I think the fact that Ciel is able to surprise him like that makes Sebastian feel very much like Ciel is different/superior to other humans, in more ways than just his soul. I think he sees Ciel sort of like a treasured possession. He feels affection for him, and enjoys serving him (when he’s not being a little shit) and really does care for him even though he plans on eating him when the contract is up. I think that while he’ll enjoy it, he’ll also feel at least a little sad about it and miss him, and that after Ciel he won’t ever really have that kind of connection and strong feeling for another master. It’s possible that even if he finds another soul as tasty as Ciel’s he’ll always be a bit bummed that none of his masters are as special and interesting as Ciel. I also think he does possibly view Ciel in a kind of…not sexual exactly but I think that to him Ciel is very beautiful (as described in “the lonely demon” event Yana drew) and I think he admires and kind of cherishes that beauty in a way that may or may not be sexual/romantic. And before some of you attack me for sebaciel stuff, this doesn’t come from a ship-y place but rather just being objective. You gotta keep in mind that Sebastian is a demon with pretty much no morals so it’s not that outrageous to think he might be into people who are far too young for him lmaoo.
Now to get to how Ciel feels about Sebastian. To be brief, while I don’t think he really loves Sebastian per se, I think he has a MAJOR mental/emotional/physical dependency on him. The physical part is obvious, he’s pretty much helpless without Sebastian. However, let’s say somehow Ciel got his revenge and then found a way out of the contract and Sebastian ended up leaving. I really don’t think Ciel would do very well mentally. Sebastian got him out of an extremely traumatic situation, and ever since then has been the sole constant in Ciel’s life, always following him like a shadow, protecting him and being there at his every wish. This is shown for example when he asks Sebastian to stay with him until he falls asleep etc. Dependency is a really key word here because it’s not just a healthy need or desire, it’s like he would probably fall apart completely without Sebastian there like he always has been.
I don’t know how to describe their bond, I don’t really think there’s any human equivalent? It’s not really romantic, it’s not father/son, it’s not friends, and it’s not just master and servant. It’s not rly comparable to any of those things so I don’t know exactly what to call it other than Super Fucked Up.
